Thus spake the fortune cookie!
For we partook of a chinese on Saturday evening, my two eldest children and I.
The little ones, make-up smeared after their performance, persuaded Daddy to take them home with him for the night. Though he resisted, at first, he caved, which allowed me my first sound night of sleep in ages; with children in the house, as a parent, one ear is always twitching, listening out for anything out of the ordinary.
I had a quiet Sunday, deciding that rest was a priority and whatever jobs I did would need doing today anyway, once they had returned with chocolate coin wrappers and dirty washing and extra-long drinking straws...
This is, after all, supposed to be the season of peace and goodwill, of family and fun, of light and love.
I want to keep sight of that!

Oh that's ace you had a brief respite from parenting. Cheers
