I love to hear inspiring stories.
My daughter has a friend who is about 14 who is organising a concert to raise funds for the Quicken Trust to build a house for a homeless Ugandan family, and for her fare to Uganda next year, where she will work with the charity.
Good for her; for me, this has more meaning than celebrity adoptions though, whatever action anyone takes to help another human being will always be better than no action at all, or than sitting around criticising the action that others choose to take.
Helping just one child may seem like a drop in the ocean but we are all affected. Likewise, however small and insignificant one person believes themselves to be, we are all equal, we are all of equal importance in the grand scheme of things. One kind word to you, or from you, will always have an affect on the whole world.
I look forward to the concert; my Ali is dancing but that is not why I'll have tears in my eyes. Any example of children being moved to make the world better just hits me that way.

Me too.
