How exciting!
I've just bought a new diary and spent the last hour or so filling in birthdays, names and addresses...I always love doing that, taking the time to send love as I write their names...
And while I was writing the 'phone rang and I was invited to a party, so it was all doubly exciting. I could write it in on a clean page, with a sparkly gel pen. Over the last few days I was thinking I need to get out more- I'm always off doing something, but it has a purpose and, though I find everything fun, to schedule in something that is Just fun feels extra gratifying.
I had strawberries and cream at a local golf club this week, at the School Governor Awards; we were pleased to accept an award for being good governors. Although it's the inner sense of achievement, and the knowledge that we're doing something that is making a difference, for the better, to the local community, having someone come and say thankyou every now and then is wonderful.
Being appreciated reminds me to appreciate. A thoughtful word, a friendly smile, can make such a difference to someone's day. Although we shouldn't need external gratification, and should look within to find love and connection to the divine, there are times when the human touch really helps! After all, each of us is God's hand on the Earth, and there are those who struggle to feel God in the ether, in nature...in all that is. So, for those people. let us show them love, that they belong, that they matter...
We are all children of the universe, after all.
